Course Description:

This session will provide insight into the critical components of Emergency Preparedness that are scrutinized during the survey process.  Emergency Preparedness staff, Maintenance staff, and Administrators will benefit from this review of the regulatory requirements, and the tips, tools and QAPI strategies that will support an effective Emergency Preparedness program in the facility.

Learning Objectives: 

  1. Recognize the regulatory requirements pertaining to Emergency Preparedness.
  2. Identify and implement tips, tools and QAPI strategies that will demonstrate an effective facility Emergency Preparedness program.
  3. Become familiar with types of facility-wide safety drills that can be conducted to meet the regulatory requirements.

Course Content

  • 20 min: Review of the Emergency Preparedness Regulatory Requirement key components.
  • 20 min: Identification and discussion of tips, tools and QAPI strategies that demonstrate facility compliance with an effective Emergency Preparedness program.
  • 15 min: Demonstration of facility-wide safety drills that can be conducted to meet the regulatory requirements.
  • 5 min: Questions and Answers
