AHCA Quality Forum: PDPM, ICD-10 MDS11/30/2023All Day
Venue
Phoenix, AZ 85008
Description: The Arizona Health Care Association presents the Patient Driven Payment Model (PDPM) and Minimum Data Set (MDS) Annual Quality Forum. This year we are excited to welcome back national MDS expert, Carol Maher to lead the discussion on important changes and updates to the MDS, PDPM and ICD-10. These changes include the RAI Manual and item set updates that became effective October 1, 2023. These represent the largest changes since MDS 3.0 and PDPM. The ADL coding for each MDS will change from the system that has been used since the onset of MDS to the new GG functional assessments. Also, Section K and Section O have additional look-back columns specific to the Medicare stay, along with expanded questions regarding the new assessment window columns. Finally, significant changes have been made to the resident interviews along with new MDS items reporting social determinants of health, loneliness and medication reconciliation at discharge. These important changes may have a significant impact on the financial outlook for skilled nursing facilities. Don’t miss this valuable educational opportunity!
Presenter: Carol Maher, RN-BC, RAC-CT, Director of Education, Hansen Hunter & Co. P.C.
