Karla Averill, Director of Assisted Living for the Arizona Health Care Association has been trained as a Master Trainer and is certified to train coaches from AL communities who, in turn, implement the program within their community. The Coaches training is eight hours and all training materials and videos are part of the program. AHCA received a start-up grant from the Virginia G. Washington, DC – Citing the negative impact to local seniors as well as the possible loss of key front line caregiver jobs resulting from cuts to Medicare-financed nursing home care, front line caregivers from 16 states fanned out on Capitol Hill today. They urged their lawmakers to reject any funding cuts in the weeks ahead, and they said a new bipartisan letter from U.S. Reps. Tim Walz (D-MN) and Chris Shays (R-CT) is helping them make their case.
